TYT Non-Discrimination Policy


Tecumseh Youth Theatre is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Tecumseh Youth Theatre is committed to providing an environment that is free from discrimination because of race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, disability, gender or sexual  orientation. 

It is the policy of Tecumseh Youth Theatre to:

  • Make reasonable accommodations wherever necessary for all youth with disabilities

  • Thoroughly investigate instances of alleged discrimination and take corrective action if warranted;

  • Be continually alert to identify and correct any practices by individuals that are at variance with the intent of the non-discrimination Policy.

TYT Code Of Conduct


TYT sets an expectation for its cast of performers, crew and production team. That every individual will use good judgment as he/she makes decisions during the audition, rehearsal and performance week of any particular show. Students are required to demonstrate a commitment to the show and the Code of Conduct, as listed below, during the run of a show. It is the hope of TYT that because of each performers participation and experiences, they will continue to make positive choices in their lives. 

Participation in a TYT show demands every student’s observance and practice of good common sense, as well as ethical behavior. Any person relating to a show who violates this Code of Conduct is subject to discipline, up to/or including removal from the show.

  • No abusive language, rudeness or discourtesy of another student, volunteers or team member

  • No harassment or bullying at any time in any form; including verbal, physical, electronic and online.

  • No Use of Illegal Drugs, Cigarettes or alcohol

  • No Use of dangerous materials (explosives, firearms, weapons)

  • No endangering your life or the lives of others around you

  • All Students and Crew need to cooperate and listen to the direction and expertise of the Production Team.

  • Absences. All absences must be presented to the director for approval ASAP. More than 3 unexcused absences may result in a student being removed from the stage scene that was blocked and rehearsed.

  • The Two Weeks prior to the show are mandatory for all cast members
